As of October, 2014, citizens of 66 countries can get a Visa on Arrival. For two weeks, it will cost you 25 BHD. For citizens with the United Kingdom passport, 3 months valid visa will cost 20 BHD. In general, a 72 hour valid visa will cost you 15 BHD and 7 days valid visa 25 BHD. A transit visa is 2 BHD.
Traveling by plane is your best alternative. Bahrain International Airport has good connections with London and cities in the region. You can also travel by a bus or a car. However, you cannot cross a border by foot, you must be in a vehicle. You cannot travel by boat anymore.
The official language is Arabic. This is extremely hard language to understand, so don’t expect to understand a lot of people. Also, reading signs, written in this language is almost impossible. However, English and Persian languages are widely spoken.
The official currency is the Bahraini dinar. It is one of the strongest currencies in the world.
